A particular area of Nanocomp expertise is its fabrication of diffractive Fresnel-type lenses by thin foil roll-to-roll technology. These collimating (focusing) lenses can be used as camera flash lenses in handheld devices. Unique features are design flexibility, easy integration to product and compact lens size. Nanocomp’s thin plastic foil (0.250 mm) light guides are designed for use with side-emitting LEDS in on-cover optics and display backlights. Uniform light output is combined with attractive appearance. Making use of Nanocomp’s own design capabilities during manufacturing will speed up product verification and iterations.

The same R2R technology is used to produce micro-components with decorative and security features. Highly sensitive and reliable micro-optical solutions can be used to authenticate devices and instruments and improve product security. Attachment of decorative features to consumer products and packaging will also enhance product visibility and attractiveness
